Stage 3

Stage 3 students are developing increasingly sophisticated information literacy skills. They are becoming more discerning in their search for quality information among numerous sources, including printed texts and websites. They are aware of the risks of plagiarism and are practising their ability to paraphrase, quote and reference. The information literacy programs in the Wideview library challenge our Stage 3 students to prepare for the rigours of secondary schooling.

In Term 1, 2020, students in Stage 3 will continue expanding their information literacy skills, then put them into action with a Pathfinder project. A Pathfinder is a website built specifically for our students that provides them with various web-based tasks that support, extend and test their information literacy skills. Students explore the Pathfinder for tasks they would like to perform and that best match their ability level. Students are able to work through Pathfinder tasks at their own pace while being supported as their knowledge and skills improve.
